He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role An opportunity has arisen to join our engaging and supportive Finance team in Christchurch at RHCNZ reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager.
The role incorporates a considerable degree of continuous support of the improvement of systems and processes for recording and reporting on the financial activities of the organisation. This opportunity will be focused on ensuring the provision of informative, complete and compliant financial reporting, which meets the needs and requirements of external stakeholders including Auditors, Taxation Advisors, Bankers and Investors.

Key responsibilities for the Accountant role are: - Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements monthly and annually
- Financial reporting from transactions to accurate and complete finalised group monthly results capturing revenue and costs from different sources
- General ledger management including the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with tax compliance obligations, including Income Tax, GST, FBT and Withholding Tax
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Registers ensuring up to date reporting of Accounting and Tax balances
- Maintaining the lease register for lease and leasor accounting in compliance with NZ IFRS16
- Assist with the compilation of information for management and board reporting
- Take the lead on projects and ad-hoc work as it arises
Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you - CA or CPA qualified and tertiary qualification in accounting or finance
- An ability to look beyond the immediate data to recognise broader needs/impacts
- Strong understanding of New Zealand Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and New Zealand Tax Law
- Knowledge of NetSuite (Oracle) ERP (desirable but not essential)
- Intermediate to Advance knowledge and experience of Excel and wider MS 365 software
