He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role We're looking for an
IT Business Analyst to join our Christchurch-based IT Services team. This is a permanent, full-time role.
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of business needs and technology solutions, helping our teams understand challenges, explore opportunities, and make informed decisions about how technology can best support the future of RHCNZ.
As part of our wider IT Services team, you'll work alongside Principal Applications Consultants, applications specialists, project delivery teams, technology partners, and business leaders across the organisation.
Together, you'll help shape ideas into practical, achievable initiatives by bringing structure to complex problems, clarifying requirements, evaluating options, and supporting successful change.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. One day you might be facilitating a workshop to understand a business challenge, the next you could be evaluating solution options, developing recommendations, defining requirements, or helping leaders understand the trade-offs between different approaches.
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively, and helping people move from uncertainty to clarity.
In this role you'll: - Work with business and technology stakeholders to understand challenges, opportunities, and desired outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and stakeholder discussions that help define problems and identify potential solutions.
- Gather, document, and validate business and technology requirements to support solution design and delivery.
- Analyse business needs, processes, systems, and technology opportunities to help shape practical recommendations.
- Develop options assessments, business cases, and decision-support material that clearly articulate the pros, cons, risks, costs, dependencies, and trade-offs of different approaches.
- Partner with Principal Applications Consultants, project teams, applications specialists, vendors, and business leaders to help ensure initiatives are well-defined and positioned for success.
- Support change readiness, stakeholder engagement, adoption planning, and benefits realisation activities as initiatives move into delivery.
Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you You're naturally curious and enjoy understanding how things work. You ask great questions, can quickly get to the heart of an issue, and enjoy helping others make sense of complex situations.
You're equally comfortable talking with frontline teams, business leaders, technical specialists, vendors, and project teams. Most importantly, you enjoy bringing people together, building shared understanding, and helping teams make confident decisions.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Experience in Business Analysis, solution design, technology-enabled change, consulting, applications delivery, or a similar role.
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, analysis, and documentation.
- The ability to evaluate options and develop balanced recommendations that consider business outcomes, user experience, technical feasibility, risk, cost, and operational impact.
- Experience translating business needs into clear requirements and practical deliverables for technology and delivery teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in helping people solve problems together.
- Experience in healthcare, radiology, technology services, or other complex operational environments would be advantageous, but is not essential.
For this great opportunity, we're looking for someone who can demonstrate our values: - PATIENTS are our why. We listen to patients, respect their choices, and involve them in decisions about their imaging and care.
- Our TEAM is our greatest strength.
- MANAAKI is at our core. We treat everyone with warmth, respect, empathy, and compassion, acknowledging their worth and dignity.
- EXCELLENCE is our ambition.
