Enrolling enables your 2 yearly mammograms to be scheduled for you, and includes any additional imaging or procedures required to detect Breast cancer. We highly recommend enrolling if you are eligible (age 45 to 69, being gradually increased to 74 by 2029).
To enrol, ring BreastScreen Aotearoa on 0800 270 200 or visit www.breastscreen.govt.nz or ask your GP.
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer to affect New Zealand women. Regular mammography can reduce breast cancer deaths by 30 percent. Women who are experiencing breast symptoms such as a lump, pain or discharge should not wait for a screening mammogram but contact their GP as soon as possible.
